 “Behind the PSA”
Background:
Travel with Spirit teamed with the Jordan Tourism Board to film Brandon Crouch’s volunteer visit to the Holy Land Institute for the Deaf in Salt, Jordan. Brandon and a small group from North America teamed with students in the job training center to make handwoven crafts and then later ate lunch with them in the cafeteria. The experience was unforgettable for everyone.
Jordanian officials have shown leadership in the voluntourism movement, and worked closely with our crew to help us connect with the institute and students without upsetting their daily routine.

In 1964, the Holy Land Institute for the Deaf in Salt, Jordan was established as a school for deaf children. Since that time, it has offered Rehabilitation, Education, Vocational Training and other Services for deaf and physically or mentally challenged people from throughout Jordan and the region.
